They understand that user experience is indicative of webpage quality \u2013 and they want to reward quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Google uses an AI algorithm they call RankBrain. Essentially, RankBrain is a machine-learning tool that Google uses to sort and rank search results, based on user experience of the webpage. And if enough people do it, the ranking for that page drops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We know that Google use a wide range of tools to determine ranking factor. RankBrain, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2015-10-26\/google-turning-its-lucrative-web-search-over-to-ai-machines\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">announced by Google<\/a>, is now the third most important tool Google use to determine ranking. So, user experience is king.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<br>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Optimise your website for Mobile-First indexing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Recently, Google <a href=\"https:\/\/webmasters.googleblog.com\/2018\/03\/rolling-out-mobile-first-indexing.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">announced<\/a> that they will be migrating websites to mobile-first indexing. Traditionally, Google \u2018s internal crawling, indexing, and ranking systems typically used the desktop version of a webpage\u2019s content. Now, Google will crawl the desktop and mobile version of your site separately, with mobile being the primary index.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What\u2019s the reasoning? Mobile, now, is the dominant way users perform searches. That has startling implications for webmasters. To ensure your ranking doesn\u2019t slip, your website should be well optimised for mobile. That means (among other things) being lightweight, highly responsive to screen-size, and fast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mobile users expect websites to be quick and easy to navigate. To stay on top of SEO in 2019, you will need to optimise your pages and content for mobile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<br>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Optimise your content for Featured Snippets<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>11.5% of search results return a Feature Snippet, which sit neatly at the top of the SERP, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.semrush.com\/sensor\/?db=US&amp;category=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">according to SEMrush<\/a>. Understandably, chances are high that you\u2019ll run into a feature snippet today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Featured Snippets are typically full answers to certain queries. These are commonly definitions, answers to common questions, recipes, How-To guides, and more. Importantly, there is a distinction between Featured Snippets and answer boxes, which are Google\u2019s own tools that pop up for queries such as converting measurements or translating sentences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The goal is to optimise your web content for the Google ranking algorithms so that it can return as a featured snippet.
