Google&#8217;s public liaison of Search, Danny Sullivan released various statements via Twitter to announce the update and clarified some common algorithm related queries. As is the norm with Google Search related announcements, no specifics were given but Danny did provide some clues about what to expect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Each day, Google usually releases one or more changes designed to improve our results. Some are focused around specific improvements. Some are broad changes. Last week, we released a broad core algorithm update. These types of updates are normally minor fixes and tweaks but a <em>Broad Core Algorithm Update<\/em> is different.&nbsp;Broad core updates can significantly affect search rankings and occur several times per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<br>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How will the latest Google Algorithm Update affect you?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>From the following statements, websites may see a fluctuation in their search rankings. There is an indication from Google that websites that should have been ranking highly (but were not) will see a rise in their organic rankings. This is because some high quality websites were not being recognised by Google&#8217;s older algorithm. However, with the latest updates, they will now be&nbsp;rewarded with the rankings that they deserve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This will unfortunately cause some websites to drop in rankings but this isn&#8217;t a reflection of anything that you have done wrong with your website (as noted by Google&#8217;s statements below).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">There\u2019s no \u201cfix\u201d for pages that may perform less well other than to remain focused on building great content. At the end of the day, the latest update is about making sure every high value website is given the same opportunity to rank. Google says that there is no &#8216;fix&#8217; if you do see a drop in organic rankings.
