Top Tip Tuesday – How To Create Blogs To Improve SEO

By now everybody knows that blogging is important for SEO. But writing blog posts is not enough to guarantee success. The more important thing is to ensure that your blog post gets shared.

Richa explains more in today’s Top Tip Tuesday video.

Best Practices for Creating Shareable Blog Posts

  1. Craft an engaging headline: The headline is the first thing your readers are going to see, so you want to make sure that it draws them in and encourages them to keep reading. Use a tool like Coschedule to assess how engaging your headlines are.
  2. Include the most captivating information at the beginning: People today have notoriously short attention spans. They don’t want to sift through paragraphs and paragraphs of text to find what they are looking for. Put the most interesting information towards the beginning of your blog post. But make sure not to give everything away – give your readers a reason to keep reading to learn more.
  3. Break things up with sub-headings: Sub-headings help to organise your blog posts and give readers a sense of what the article is about at a glance. They can also improve readability by breaking up dense blocks of text into less daunting chunks.
  4. Keep your sentences short and to the point: Long, meandering sentences lose readers. You may think complex sentences make you sound smart, but readers tend to prefer their information to be presented succinctly. Try to keep your sentences short and snappy.
  5. Use images and videos: Humans are visual creatures. Images and videos can add to the story you are trying to tell through text while improving overall engagement with the page. Breaking up the text with visual assets makes your blog post more aesthetically pleasing.
